The 4-star KNAUS Campingpark Hennesee is located on the eastern banks of the Hennesee, in the "Land of the 1000 Mountains", the middle of the region of Hochsauerland between the Arnsberger forest and Homert nature parks. A bathing area with a sandy beach is available for guests to use free of charge.
The heated indoor swimming pool with sauna is fun at all moments.
The beautiful lake invites to various water sports like windsurfing, swimming or fishing. There is also a colourful entertainment program for the younger guests.
A colourful animation programme by trained staff is also offered especially for the younger guests in the high season. There are also plenty of activities for the grown-ups at the camping park: for example, they can really get their strength back from the outdoor fitness equipment, the beach volleyball court or a game of football.

It is about 10 km to the centre of Meschede. The centre of Meschede can be easily reached on foot in about 30 minutes via the park-like Henne-Boulevard. The nearby town of Arnsberg is ideal for day trips.
The camping park is also an ideal starting point to discover the beautiful surroundings with mountains, meadows, forests, lakes and many pretty half-timbered villages on your own or on guided hikes and bike tours. The idyllic Ruhr river valley, adventure trails through nature or the Plästerlegge, the highest natural waterfall in the Sauerland, are other worthwhile destinations.
Pure adventure and nature await visitors in the Bilstein Valley near Warstein, just a few minutes away. Here you can visit the breathtaking dripstone cave and observe wild animals in their natural habitat during the day and at night in the freely accessible wildlife park.
Even more thrills are promised by entering the Sauerland visitor mine in nearby Bestwig. You too can start your underground experience and discover the disused Eickhoffstollen with the whole family, which takes you 300m below the mountains over a length of 1.5km.
In the cold season, in addition to winter hikes and cross-country skiing directly at Lake Hennesee, you can also go skiing in the ski areas of Winterberg, Willingen, Bödefeld or Schmallenberg, 15-25 km away. Here, tobogganists and snowboarders also get their money's worth.
