The KNAUS Campingpark Eschwege is located about 1 km north-east of Eschwege on a peninsula between the Werratal lake and the river Werra. The camping park borders on the lawn and the lake, on which you can surf, fish, sail or bathe in a lovely environment.
At the banks of river Werra, guided canoeing and convivial rafting are offered. From water sports and leisure centre you can experience the Hessian rowing championships once a year. Two to three times a year sailing regattas take place on the Werratal lake. The approx. 7 km long lake route is almost compulsery for all nature lovers. A total of 23 premium hiking trails of varying degrees of difficulty are available in the region for extended day trips. Cyclists can explore the surrounding area on the well-developed Werratal cycle path.
After an eventful day, fortify yourself in the campsite bistro or stock up on all kinds of regional delicacies at the weekly market, which is held on Wednesdays and Saturdays in Eschwege town centre.

Take a trip into the fantastic nature of the unique low mountain range landscape and let yourself be enchanted by the magnificent view of the Hohe Meißner, the Thuringian Forest and the Eichsfeld. Eisenach, about 50 km away, with its historic Wartburg Castle, where Luther translated the Bible into German in the 16th century, is also worth a visit.
