The 9-hectare campsite is located in the middle of the Altmühltal Nature Park and directly on the banks of the Altmühl.
The Altmühltal is known far beyond the borders of Bavaria for its scenic beauty and enchants outdoor fans of all ages with its unique nature, romantic little towns and imposing castles.
Discover the idyllic landscape and set off on an extensive canoe tour across Bavaria's slowest river right next to the campsite. The well-maintained Altmühl cycle path also passes directly by the campsite and is ideal for leisurely tours with the whole family thanks to its flat profile. Round off your holiday with a hearty snack on the sun terrace, while the little ones let off steam in the natural playground with climbing garden.
The historic centre of Kipfenberg is only a short walk from the campsite and invites you to take a relaxed stroll with its medieval alleys and hidden squares. High above Kipfenberg towers the 12th century Kipfenberg Castle, whose mighty towers and fortifications can still be visited today.
A fixed institution in the calendar of locals and visitors is the Kipfenberg Limes Festival, which invites visitors to a historical journey back in time to Roman times and the Middle Ages every year in mid-August. This takes place near the campsite and is very popular with the local population and campsite guests, so there may be noise pollution from 15.08. – 18.08.2025.
In the summer months, the nearby heated outdoor pool "Am Limes" with its large swimming pool, diving tower and separate children's pool invites big and small water rats to splash and frolic.
The Dinosaur Museum Altmühltal is only a few kilometres away from the campsite and takes the whole family on an exciting journey back to prehistoric times. Marvel at world-famous original fossils and life-size, scientifically accurate dinosaur replicas or prepare your own fossil.
Don't miss out on a trip to Weltenburg Monastery with its famous monastery tavern. It is located only about 50 km away above the impressive Danube breakthrough and spoils its visitors with Bavarian delicacies and home-brewed beer specialities.
