Campsites
Close to the idyllic wine village of Frickenhausen, you will find the KNAUS Campingpark Frickenhausen campsite. The campsite is located at the foot of the Kapellenberg, right on the Main and is surrounded by wine regions. From March to November you can enjoy numerous wine festivals and vineyard hikes here.
The Frickenhausen campsite has a 12 x 6 m swimming pool where you can relax after a day of sightseeing. If you want to swim even more, the public outdoor pool is within walking distance from the campsite and is also free for guests of the Frickenhausen campsite. In addition, the campsite has its own marina and there is a boat ramp at 200 mtr.
If you don't want to go to a wine festival or visit a city for a day, you can also have fun at the campsite. The sporty ones can play a game of table tennis or beach volleyball while the children have fun on the playground or playing table football. In the evenings you can grab a bite to eat in the restaurant or buy a supply of meat from the local supermarket, which you can leave on the central barbecue area with the large barbecue hut. Cycling is also very possible here, the nearby main cycle path is almost flat and well signposted.
The big city nearby is Würzburg. You should definitely go there to admire the Würzburg Residence with its palace gardens. It has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1981. There are also many festivals and events in the region, such as the Mozart Festival, the Africa Festival or the Kiliani Fair in early July.
